Information Technology Maintenance Policy


In order to provide timely application of updates, patches and stability fixes, Milligan IT has a monthly maintenance window designated for updating centralized public facing services (systems, servers, networking, etc.). Services with no changes during this maintenance window may be available but cannot be guaranteed. If users are working on or off campus during this window of time, it is strongly recommended they save their work often. Any unavoidable service outage outside of the designated maintenance window will be announced in advance.

Milligan’s monthly maintenance window is:

The second Saturday morning of each month from 12:00 AM – 4:00 AM

All users should take care to logoff systems properly before leaving each Friday to ensure all data is protected and systems are accessible.

The Milligan community will receive a notification from IT regarding this maintenance window at the beginning of each schoolyear and a reminder 3 days in advance of the scheduled maintenance.
